Wrap-Up
The purpose of this Professional Learning Module was to help you learn about how you can take control of your leadership development through self-mentoring. After reading and viewing information about the self-mentorship process, potential benefits, and implementation strategies, hopefully you will consider the inherent value in using self-mentoring to direct your learning and take responsibility for your growth.
The intention of this PLM was to demonstrate how self-mentoring can supply additional support to novice and established leaders in any setting. Despite existing barriers, becoming a self-mentor can put you in a position to "inspire, motivate, and lead" yourself (Carr, 2015, p. 128). When you learn how to self-mentor you are taking responsibility for the the impact you can make within your current environment. Thinking back on your initial thoughts at the beginning of the module, what have you discovered about self-mentoring?

-
Do you think self-mentoring would be a good fit for you? Why or why not?
-
Do you think self-mentoring would add value to your organization? Explain.
-
Describe how you feel about your ability to become a self-mentor.
-
In what ways can self-mentoring support you in your current role?
"The job of becoming a self-mentor is really about developing the disposition of life-long learning and self-transformation."
