Challenge

Imagine it is your first day in a new position or environment. Your stomach is full of butterflies and you are feeling like the new kid on the first day of school. Beginning a new work experience can be overwhelming, stressful, and anxiety-inducing. You will need to learn more about your colleagues, and the culture and climate in your building to function effectively. If you are fortunate, you will have a mentor to offer support and guidance. Yet, what if...your new school or district does not have enough mentors available? You and your mentor are simply not a good fit? You are a singleton in your department or building? What will happen next? The answer is up to YOU! The video below will provide a preview of the module content and give you the opportunity to hear the personal testimonies of practicing educators and their experiences with traditional mentoring models.
